Curriculum Aims: To develop key geography skills of observation, inquiry, testing and applying knowledge, presenting data, making comparisons, using maps. To acquire knowledge and understanding of the location and culture of these countries.

Objectives: Complete Section A Challenges 1, 3, 6, and 9 to gain one full ASDAN Credit.

Challenge 1: Choose any three holiday locations outside of the UK. Use climate data to make either a blog or vlog to advise potential visitors what to take with them when they visit each destination. The article should contain a range of different items you should take at least five being related to the climate. 

Challenge 3: Choose a UK seaside resort and design and produce a brochure, blog or vlog that is designed to encourage people to visit. It should include:

• A resort map
• Details of transport links to the resort
• Information about the main activities
• Images of the resort
• Any additional information you feel is relevant

Challenge 6: Investigate the kinds of places visitors from overseas would like to visit on a 14-day tour around the UK. Design a potential tour with at least 7 destinations and mark them on a map of the UK giving reasons why they should visit each place. Produce a list of the kind of businesses that would benefit from overseas tourists.

Challenge 9: In a group act out a scenario where a travel agent is advising customers who are looking for a week’s holiday. You will need to research different locations so that customers can ask realistic questions. Information should include travel arrangements, costs, climate and facilities at the destination including accommodation and points of interest. Make either a Podcast or Vlog.

Assessment (Formative): Student progress and attainment is recorded on an individual pupil’s progress and achievement sheet. Production of a portfolio of work as the outcome of at least 10 hours work.
